Responsibilities

In keeping with the Dignity Health core values, the Lab Clinical Tech supports and promotes the provision of quality patient care. The Lab Clinical Tech actively participates as a team member in the systems, functions and activities of the unit/department.

 

This position is represented by SEIU, Local UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Six (6) months hospital experience as a Clinical Tech/Phlebotomist.
  • CPR and Phlebotomy Certification required
  • Must have a High School education and successful completion of the State of California approved Phlebotomy Training Program.
  • Valid California Driver's licensed.  Meets all Dignity Health requirements for driving.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One (1) year recent hospital experience as a Clinical Technician / Phlebotomist preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to operate common office equipment including computers.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic procedures.
  • Ability to  perform basic outpatient laboratory registration and ordering of laboratory tests.
