Position Summary:


Under general supervision and utilizing independent judgment, prepares, season, and cooks. Cooks products for patients and customers according to established department procedures.

  • Performs record keeping functions as required.
  • Responsible for taking payments and balance of Cash drawer on a daily basis.
  • Duties include handling credit card payments according to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS).
  • This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.
  • The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).


Minimum Qualifications

  • One (1) year institutional cooking experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent technical training.
  • Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Excellent communication and observation skills.
  • Must maintain a Serve Safe certificate or obtain with six (6) months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:                                                    

  • Formal culinary training.
  • Knowledge and techniques used in quantity food preparation, which includes, grilling, frying, baking, broiling and steaming.
  • Previous experience with food preparation of modified diets.
