Responsibilities

Job Summary:

 

The Dominican Oaks, Retirement Community Administrator provides leadership and overall management of the facility and is responsible for maintaining a superior level of service and care.

 

Job standards:

  • Promotes and ensures resident and family satisfaction through effective resident-centered care and supervision.
  • Ensures priority of resident needs in staff training, systems and procedures.
  • Ensures confidentiality of all information relative to residents, through staff training and personal example.
  • Participates in formation and programs of Residents Council.
  • Initiates resident involvement, as appropriate, in issues and projects pertinent to occupancy.
  • Promotes compassionate understanding of issues related to aging and the elderly.
  • Establishes and routinely monitors effectiveness of emergency procedures.
  • Implements rental and occupancy procedures effectively and efficiently.
  • Knowledgeably counsels residents on resources for services or information.
  • Conducts regular resident satisfaction surveys and monitors for trends, implements improvement change as indicated.
  • Understands and directs implementation of affordable housing processes and regulations.
  • Enforces House Rules and Regulations consistently and fairly.
  • Sets standards for care in Assisted Living.
  • Resolves resident and/or family complaints with attention to overall resident satisfaction and individual dignity.
  • Responds to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Oversees development and implementation of resident care management tools, techniques and practices.

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • At least three years’ experience in senior congregate facility management, with demonstrated skill in budget administration, operations, staff supervision, community relations, market and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • BA/BS, coursework in business administration, marketing, social service, hospitality marketing, social services, hospitality management and/or human resources.
  • Knowledge of and/or ability to learn federal state and local regulations pertaining to the operation of an assisted living facility.
  • Familiarity with the practice of Assisted Living care.
  • Computer skills, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Ability to complete Residential Care for the Elderly Certification.
