Meets the duties and responsibilities of the job description for GMHHC RN on assigned nursing unit to be able to perform as a resource for clinical issues and patient care activities as needed.

Demonstrates understanding of the unit patient population including, illness, disabilities, disease, nutrition, treatment and interventions. Provides education to office staff as well as hospital nursing staff that will directly care for colorectal patients.

Regularly attend Colorectal Staff meetings at least 90% of the time.  Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained, cleaned and sterilized. Maintain PAR levels for supplies. Provide supervision for medications located in the clinic. Complete an Intake on all new clinic patients. Answer all patient calls in a timely manner, coordinate care with physician and accurately document the call. Expedite admissions and coordinate with ancillary departments to ensure prompt completion of all ordered tests. Work closely with Medical Director and Colorectal Institute physicians in promoting colorectal services to surrounding community physicians and members.



  • Two years recent clinical experience Prefer ER, Surgery, GI or Outpatient clinic experience.
  • Two years clinical experience relevant to unit population and previous charge/manager nurse experience desirable.
  • Education BSN desirable. Licensure: Current RN License to practice Nursing in California.
  • Ostomy Management Specialist Certified.
  • Training Certification in area of specialty desirable.
