Dignity Health Mercy General Hospital has been serving the Sacramento community for more than 100 years. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy General has been at its current site in the heart of East Sacramento since 1925. Mercy General Hospital has 342 licensed beds, a physician staff of more than 800 and is the highest volume cardiac procedure hospital in California. Mercy General is one of six Sacramento area hospitals that are part of Dignity Health, a system of 39 hospitals and medical centers in California, Arizona and Nevada.


The incumbent manages the clinical psychology services provided to the Acute Rehabilitation Program and the Home and Community Reintegration Program. The incumbent provides neuropsychological evaluations to clients, assists the treatment team in developing effective strategies to deal with clients emotional and behavioral problems, and provides individual and group counseling sessions and psychotherapy to clients, as appropriate. The incumbent participates in program development, makes recommendations regarding staff development needs and provides in-service education as requested. 
The incumbent shall demonstrate behaviors consistent with the core (Mercy) values in support with Mercy General Hospital and the Mission and Philosophy of Dignity Health.


This position requires:

  • 5+ years experience as a clinical psychologist.
  • 2 years experience in neuropsychology.
  • 2 years experience in a neurobehavioral setting, including acute and post acute rehabilitation programs.
  • Doctoral degree in Psychology.
