Medical Lab Technician (MLT)

Job Summary:

Under general supervision and medical direction, performs waived and moderately complex laboratory tests as defined by State and Federal Regulations. Performs clinical laboratory test procedures in a manner that provides accurate, timely, and meaningful results. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Minimum:

• Current CA license as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
• AA degree or an equivalent or higher degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, including a minimum of 36 semester units of physical or biological science from an accredited college or university.
• Completion of 60 semester (90 quarter) units from an accredited college or university with 36 semester units in physical or biological science.
• Graduation from a medical laboratory technician training program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science or other recognized accrediting program approved by the department.
• Continuing education requirements must be maintained

Preferred:

• One year of experience as a Lab Assistant or Technician in a clinical laboratory is preferred
