Responsibilities

The System Manager, Strategic Digital Initiatives is a leader within the Innovation and Digital Care Transformation team and is accountable for strategic opportunity development to drive clinical and operational digital transformation, customer experience, and other activities as assigned by the System Director, Divisional & Cross Functional Engagement.

The System Manager, Strategic Digital Initiatives is responsible to prioritize, evaluate and oversee the delivery of multiple initiatives which have significant impact on digital experience, virtual care experience and care provider experience strategy across CommonSpirit Health.

The System Manager, Strategic Digital Initiatives will oversee day-to-day operational management of all activities and functions in the respective assigned multiple processes including developing, implementing and evaluating operating policies, procedures and standards; determining service levels and enhancements; developing and monitoring budgets; providing technical advice and/or oversight to staff or other departments related to area of assignment; evaluating information concerning needs; estimating and coordinating program/unit activities and associated costs; and tactical project execution activities.

The System Manager, Strategic Digital Initiatives will also ensure strategic initiatives have clear objectives tied to value, limiting resource investment only to projects that have defined deliverables that meet the business requirements.

The System Manager, Strategic Digital Initiatives will supervise staff including conducting performance evaluations, coordinating training, and implementing hiring, discipline and termination procedures.

This role is a leader in the development of the organization’s Digital & Human Experience strategy and is responsible and accountable for delivering the best-practice approach designed to successfully plan and prepare for all aspects of project engagement, delivery and adoption within the assigned business units.

 Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  • Key resource for the Innovation & Digital Care Transformation program encompassing the development of relationships between IT and the organizations multiple customer constituencies including: patients, consumers, providers, clinical staff, administrators, and employees across CommonSpirit Health.
  • This position is vital to the organizations efficient operation in terms of well- managed systems that will ensure the financial success and ability to cope with the pressures of shrinking revenues, and our market strategy to grow and expand into the future.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining channels of communication between business, IT and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Responsible of leadership and removing barriers for program managers that are developing and delivering key initiatives.
  • Contributes to the implementation of the department's operational and strategic goals and objectives. Ensures department collaboration on achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Proactively prepares report and/ or documentation providing business details to staff and management identifying business and patient trends, defining metrics, and recommending solutions.
  • Contributes to tracking assigned budget and resources for each project. Prepares cost estimates and cost recommendations. Monitors expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, financial stewardship by being accountable for the financial integrity around development and maintenance of project budget.

Compensation Range:  $49.19 to $63.95, hourly rates, annualized.

 

Position is eligible for incentive pay based on company performance.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Education

  • Three plus (3+) years of relevant technical and business experience.
  • Three plus (3+) years IT experience.
  • Project Management experience in a Health care environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to launch and deliver one or more IT project(s) on time and within budget
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred Experience

  • Three (3) years with strong functional understanding of hospital, clinic, and billing operations preferred
  • Project Management experience in a Health care environment preferred
  • PMP Certification

Required Minimum Knowledge, Training and Skills

  • Possess thorough knowledge and understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for program management and facilitating highly complex project 
  • Experience in Project Management methodologies and tool sets – waterfall/agile/scrum, planning, issue escalation, problem resolution, and conflict resolution.
