Responsibilities

At Dignity Health St. Joseph's and Medical Center, we deliver humankindness through a wide range of health, social and support services in the heart of Phoenix, Arizona. As part of our team, you will provide clinical expertise, support and oversight that helps ensure our patients receive exceptional . As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to champion the change by joining in our mission of healing through humankindness.

Our Surgery RNs assess patient/family health problems and resources, taking a leadership role in the development, implementation and outcomes evaluation of a plan for nursing . Provides professional nursing and interventions to acutely ill adult patient populations. Position requires providing service to one or more age groups including young adults through geriatric patients in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. Position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the organization. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee will support the organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the wide performance improvement plan.

Our twelve- OR suite maintains a 1:1 -to-patient ratio, which enables us to form close relationships with patients and their families during very difficult times. We also feature a 44-bay multi-level with staff dedicated to trauma and other cases. Our features a 1:2 -to-patient ratio. Throughout the we are committed to using the latest technology, affording staff the opportunity to constantly learn and enhance their skills. As a Level I Trauma Center, we are operational 24/7.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • AZ RN license or RN License from a Compact State. Please refer to www.ncsbn.org for complete listing of Compact States.
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS certification (in monitored areas)

Preferred:

  • One year recent acute experience
  • BSN
  • Professional certification in area of specialty
