Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to perform duties in alignment with mission, vision and values of the organization. Performs duties as a liaison with local colleges to recruit, interview, supervise (in partnership with Nursing Leadership) new graduates into the New Grad Program. Performs duties in support of and in compliance with the performance improvement plan, Joint Commission and other licensing, accrediting and regulatory agencies. Plans, directs, manages/conducts and evaluates all educational activities and programs related to the New Grad Program. Works directly with nursing leaders to coordinate the new grads in the program and manage the program. Supervises new grads in clinical setting in Acute Care and other applicable settings. Supervision will ensure new grads are meeting clinical objectives as set forth in the New Grad Program. May supervise and provide instruction to new grads in lab and/or classroom setting. May be asked to work as an Educator for Mercy Medical Center Merced. Will assist and support the Policies and Procedures committee.

Qualifications

Minimum

    • Bachelor's degree which includes course work in nursing, education and/or administration.

    • Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience in an acute care setting.

    • BLS ;REGISTERED NURSE (RN);BSN;CT ACLS

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Basic Microsoft capabilities

Preferred

  • Master's or higher degree, which includes course work in nursing, education or administration.

  • ECC instructor status preferred
