Responsibilities

Position Summary:
 
Manages the resources and daily activities of a crisis stablization department while ensuring environmental factors support high standards of patient care and safety.Assists in the training and development of new and existing staff members. Creates and maintains an environment that is conducive to learning transfer. Coordinates the activities of the unit for each shift and directs, organizes, and assigns work to staff. Provides patient care as needed.
 
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
  • Schedules staff to specific shifts. Measures employee performance. Assists in the training of new staff members and the development of existing staff members. Includes other clinically leaders where appropriate per license requirements.
  • Coordinates the activities of the unit during a shift and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the staff. Monitors unit financial performance, e.g., productivity.
  • Assesses, monitors, and educates the staff on patient care and may include other clinical leaders. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Provides care to patients on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor's Degree or required education and experience based on CCR Title 9.1.3.11.8.623-630 per licensed category.
  • Minimum of 3 to 6 years clnical experience per applicable license and 1 year in leadership position.
Licensure: 
  • Current license in state of practice, Basic Life Support (BLS), other credentials or credential modules may be required.
  • Acceptable licenses: MD, DO, psychologist, RN, LVN, LCSW, MF therapist, LPT, MH Rehab Specialist.

Training:

  • Behavioral health emergency medicine or crisis stabilization unit experience preferred.
