Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

Provides basic nursing care and administers Chemotherapy to patients following accepted nursing standards. MMC policies & procedures, and physician's orders. Leads nursing aspect of quality control, improvement and research studies.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse license with the state of California.
  • Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
  • Must possess and maintain a current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS certificate) prior to administering chemotherapy. Must be ACLS Certified by 09/01/11.
  • Must have at least 2 years acute care experience preferably in cancer nursing.
  • Knowledge of state OSHA and JCAHO standards
  • Must possess and maintain a current ONS Certification or obtain one within 90 days of employment. Chemotherapy-competency Certification required prior to administration of Chemotherapy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing and national certification.
  • Knowledge in radiation/chemo protocols, computerization and documentation skills.
