Overview

Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta is a member of the Dignity Health system of health care providers and is a not-for-profit medical facility. We are designated as a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital and are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care Organizations. In addition to our acute care hospital we also own and operate two Rural Health Clinics providing walk-in immediate care as well as scheduled appointments for routine medical needs. We are located in the northernmost area of California and are part of a network of care, including Mercy Medical Center Redding and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff. Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

The incumbent is responsible for direct counseling services to individuals and couples, which includes, but not limited to: children, adolescents, and families. This position reports to the Director of Rural Clinics.

Qualifications

Miinimum Qualifications:

  • Current California Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Two (2) years of experience as an LCSW
  • Two (2) years of epxerience in clinical and/or social work
  • Knowledge of:
    • Contemporary behavioral and systems theroies relevant to health care
    • End-of-life dynamics and interventions
    • Support of victims of abuse, neglect  or violence
    • Community or financial resources for underserved or vulnerable populations
  • Excellent customer skills and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
