Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed physician group of Dignity Health Arizona. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 200 providers and 500 support staff that cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 subspecialty services. The physicians provide clinical services in their areas of specialty and many serve in pivotal academic, research and leadership roles.

 

DHMG is also heavily involved in preparing tomorrow's healthcare providers. DHMG has 84 medical school students and approximately 200 residents and fellows throughout the 25 academic programs.  Clinical services are complemented with translational and bench research to augment medical education for residents and students.

Job Title: VP Operations

 

Job Summary:

The Vice President of Operations for Dignity Health Medical Group is responsible for the development and execution of the operational strategy to maximize the performance of assigned areas. These responsibilities include but are not limited to: communicating, directing, planning, organizing, financial/operational monitoring and integration operations to facilitate the delivery of cost effective, high quality healthcare serves in an ever-changing environment. The Vice President, Operations will provide the leadership and direction for assigned areas. This position will partner with leaders throughout Dignity Health to drive initiatives, programs and services to enable the organization to deliver on its mission, strategies, and goals. As a member of Dignity Health Medical Group's senior leadership team, the Vice President, Operations will exhibit and promote the mission and values of Dignity Health.

 

Job Specifications:

 

  • Proficiency and experience with systems, particularly EHRs.
  • A visionary, proactive leader with the ability to command respect and obtain support to accomplish the vision.
  • Strong management skills to identify opportunities to improve operating efficiency, growth, profitability, and compliance.

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Ensures all elements of the strategic plan are aligned and implemented within assigned operational areas.
  • Ensures that quality, satisfying, and affordable care is provided by the acquisition, utilization and organization of human, financial ,technical, and physical resources.
  • Establishes short and long-range management, organizational, operational, and financial plans to support the organization's values, vision, strategy and goals.
  • Ensures assigned areas are aligned with growth opportunities.
  • Participates in the development of the overall strategy and ensures execution of the strategic priorities.
  • Responsible for the developing and maintaining a business/management approach to track, monitor, communicate and achieve established goals and targets for assigned areas. Reports regular on performance with corrective strategies as needed.
  • Leads and drives operational improvements in the patient experience, physician and staff engagement, while increasing revenues and reducing costs to improve our competitive position.
  • Ensures consistency of operations and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and statues.
  • Maintains responsibility for positive physician relations.
  • Is accountable for a comprehensive and effective communication strategy within areas that promotes a common understanding of the market, vision, strategy, and accountabilities. Promotes a culture of two-way communications, and creates opportunities for physician/staff participation.
  • Establishes short and long-range operational plans, initiatives and processes to support the organization's mission, vision, strategies and goals and to optimize current and future performance.
  • Functions as a liaison with hospital leadership. 
  • Works with others to further and improve integration efforts.

Qualifications

Experience:

Seven years of accomplished healthcare leadership in a large, complex, and integrated healthcare setting 

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field required.

 

Licensure:

None required

 

Special Skills:

Excellent presentation, communication, and organization skills
