Responsibilities

In keeping with the French Hospital Medical Center health care philosophy, the Cardio Tech - Trainee while under direct supervision of a Preceptor or equivalent, learns to assist the physician with a variety of diagnostic and invasive procedures in the Hybrid suite and Angiographic suites. Performs at a proficient level in the areas of patient monitoring and scrubbing, judgment and anticipation of physician needs during diagnostic and interventional procedures. Licensed to position and fluro patients. Ability to store and retrieve patient media from archive system and Hemodynamic system.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 40 hours observing and shadowing a Cardio Tech and/or with other Cardio Tech team members in the performance of their duties by the hire or transfer date
  • Proficient in interpretation of EKG rhythms as evidence by passing EKG test by the hire or transfer date
  • CRT Certificaition
  • Current CPR-AHA Certification (CT CPRBLS)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Five years experience as a Special Procedures Technologist/Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist, including scrubbing
  • Monitoring circulating 
  • ARRT

Special Skills:

  • Must have working knowledge of imaging equipment.
  • Must also know departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff
    members, physicians, patient population and be able to collaborate with other departments in a multi-disciplinary situation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Self motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team oriented environment.
  • Ability and willingness to actively participate in Cath Lab task forces and committees
