Regional Director of Operations
Tacoma, WA


Common Spirit Health at Home, in conjunction with CHI Franciscan Health, is seeking a Home Health, Hospice and Palliative Care Senior Leader with strong operational and clinical experience to oversee our well-established, successful operation in Tacoma, WA as the Regional Director of Operations.


This leadership role be responsible for the day-to day oversight, management and expansion of our home-based services platform for the Pacific Northwest market through the implementation of key strategic initiatives that will drive growth and deliver solutions to our hospital and community partners while managing of all aspects of customer service, quality patient care, compliance, and financial stewardship.


The ideal candidate will have solid experience in the Home Health, Hospice and Palliative Care industry with regional responsibility over multi-site operations, effective leadership skills, and the desire to lead substantial change. 


  • Responsible for the successful financial operation of the branches. Participates in the development of the annual operating budget; P & L management; A/R and billing issues. 
  • Drives population health solutions for our hospital partners to increase utilization of services and decrease overall costs to the system.
  • Aligns with regional leaders to provide strategic and operationally effective leadership and fulfills the role of acting branch Director, Operations during vacancies within the region and mentors new Directors of Operations as needed.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of short-term (quarterly) and long-term (annually) strategic plans that support quarterly business plans developed at the branches and supported by the organization.
  • Responsible for business growth, including sales and marketing strategies for obtaining revenue goals to meet required number of face-to-face sales calls every week as indicated by the RVP.
  • Ensures the branch’s compliance with governmental standards and regulations for licensure and certification. Serves as an ex-officio member of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI).
  • Oversees and monitors patient care services delivered. Assesses customer satisfaction survey results and implements plans to improve. Reevaluates as necessary.
  • Responsible for recruitment and management of staff and the implementation of policies and programs to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for obtaining accurate annual market studies and submitting appropriate recommendations for bill and pay rate changes.


  • Bachelor’s degree is required; related field or Health Care Management is preferred.
  • Must have current home health and hospice operational management experience.
  • Minimum of six years in management in home health and hospice.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in operations and finance; maintain and analyze financial data; experience preparing and managing operating budgets.
  • Experience in finance, operations and sales.
  • Excellent knowledge of federal, state and Accreditation Commission for Health Care standards.
  • Strong leadership and staff management competencies.
  • Experienced executive and analytical ability; administrative ability; demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness.
  • Able to facilitate change.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer skills required; ability to use multiple software programs (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets).
