Overview

Located in the Phoenix, Ariz., suburb of Chandler, the Chandler Regional Medical Center is a 338-bed, not-for-profit hospital with more than 2,500 employees and almost 1,000 doctors on staff representing all major specialties.  Chandler Regional joined the Dignity Health system in 1999, but has been part of the community for more than 50 years.  The hospital includes a Level I Trauma Center, a Heart and Vascular Center, a Wound Healing Center, a Family Birth Center and many additional services. During the fiscal year ending June 30, 2016, Chandler Regional provided more than $48 million in community benefit. Responsibilities

 

As of 2020, The Pharmacy Department at Chandler Regional Medical Center is comprised of 40 pharmacists and 34 technicians serving in various managerial, clinical, information technology, decentralized, and central pharmacy roles.  The pharmacy supports a PGY1 Residency program with 2-pharmacy residents.  In 2021, Chandler Regional will see completion of new 5-story patient tower, which will include a new 7,500 square foot, state-of-the-art inpatient pharmacy. The department is open 24 hours per day and utilizes both decentralized and centralized pharmacists along with specialized pharmacists. The technicians assist the pharmacist with the help of the Omnicell automated dispensing machine, Cerner patient care system, and bedside medication verification. 

 

We are looking for a high level clinical pharmacist to join our team. Duties will include being a primary preceptor for our PGY-1 residency program, actively integrate into a patient care area of the hospital, provide educational opportunities for our staff, and various other duties that align with the needs of the department.

 

Preferred Specific Qualifications:

  • 3 years of clinical pharmacy experience.
  • Residency training.
  • Board Certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Desire for collaboration across disciplines within the organization, including physicians, nursing, and ancillary departments.
  • Experience precepting students and/or residents
  • Embracing a service culture based on the principles of continuous quality improvement.
  • Commitment to a culture of safety.
  • Arizona Pharmacist License in good standing

 

Located in the City of Chandler, Az,  a suburb of Phoenix,  this position is critical to the success of Chandler Regional Medical Center and requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

1 year clinical pharmacy experience

PharmD or BS pharmacy from and accredited College of Pharmacy

 

Licensure:

Current Arizona State Phamacist license in good standing

 

 

Preferred:

3 years of clinical pharmacy experience

PharmD. Strongly prefer residency training or equivalent experience.
