Job Summary / Purpose:

This national role directs the development of national performance improvement initiatives for core value based agreements (VBAs) such as Medicare Shared Savings Programs (MSSP) and Bundled Payments (BPCI-A). Core VBA programs exist in all markets and can be benchmarked and improved efficiently through national coordination and adoption of common measurement and best practices. A key responsibility is to ensure local markets are connected to, aligned with and supported by the enterprise. This will enable access to tools and processes that reduce the amount of resources that local markets must invest in and manage. Additionally, this position will be a key owner of the implementation of initiatives supporting these programs that contribute to Population Health Value Capture targets.


The System Director leads and facilitates meetings and committees, directs the data analysis and reporting, monitors program performance and looks ahead to mitigate risks. Working with leadership of Value Based Organizations such as Clinically Integrated Networks (CINs), Medical Groups and Division leadership, the System Director ensures clear definition of program success measures, actively collaborates on financial analysis and is able to communicate about programs effectively to a variety of audiences and stakeholders. Reports to Enterprise Population Health leadership and collaborates closely with Payer Strategy and Relations (PSR) and clinical leadership across the enterprise.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Drives improvement in Core Value Based Performance through rigorous analytical assessment.
  • Translates analytical findings into performance improvement recommendations, leveraging enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Takes high level goals and provides definition, structure and phasing to achieve through program activities.
  • Collaborates with cross functional resources to develop dashboard for KPIs related to key initiatives.
  • Develops guidelines and toolkits for core VBA performance by conducting research, supplementing with data analysis, and designing and structuring the material.
  • Engages and collaborates with internal and external subject matter experts to identify best practices and understand local dynamics for the design and deployment of guidelines and toolkits.
  • Supports enterprise initiatives with data collection/analysis, research, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborates on publications and press releases.


Minimum Qualifications: 


  • Advanced Degree

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training:

  • Knowledge of value based care and population health. Expertise in program management and measurement.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities
  • Deep understanding of CMS value based programs and initiatives
