Responsibilities

In keeping with the Dignity Health Mission and Core Values, the Biomed Technician provides assistance to the medical and clinical staff in the safe operation and proper use of clinical equipment. The individual is responsible for the safety, performance and calibration of clinical and technical equipment involved in patient care. The individual demonstrates adherence to the hospital core values in all professional interactions and shows respect to all people, creating real value, initiating meaningful change, and exhibiting integrity.

 

This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum three (3) years experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment or equivalent.
  • Associates degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent training required.
  • Must have complex computer skills including the ability to administrate a system, interpret error codes, defragment hard-drives, replace power supplies, and interpret computer codes. 

Preferred Skills & Knowledge: 

  • Technical Certification (CBET) strongly preferred.
