Position Summary:
Leads the proactive and reactive media relations efforts for designated location(s) to advance and protect the organization's reputation. Oversees organizational interactions and communications with media.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
  • Directs development and execution of proactive media relations plans, strategies, materials, and social media content to enhance and advance the reputation and growth of the organization, anticipating needs of journalists to facilitate a successful outcome.
  • Leads crisis communication strategies and action and resolves media-related crisis situations; develops plan and provides guidance and coaching to senior executives regarding action, messaging, and delivery.
  • Ensures ongoing media training is provided for organization’s spokespeople and designs system to monitor the effectiveness and reach of media coverage, reports out regularly and advises on different approaches for future results.
  • Maintains and fosters positive relationships with the full spectrum of media representatives and leads the devleopment and improvement of organization’s media coverage.



Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in media relations and three (3) years of experience leading, developing and delivering media relations programs.
